“I am a freelance illustrator from Russia, now based in Central Europe. My work mainly deals with issues of sexuality, women health, feminism, visibility of lesbian and bisexual women, rights of people of marginalized genders and gender equality. At this point in my life, I don’t draw to create art, I draw to convey an idea. I believe in a concept of illustration as social activism.
With my art, I am trying to support queer people and women. I want them to feel like they deserve happiness, their bodies are okay, their ideas are relevant, and their voices should be heard.”
“The vulva painting” is about me celebrating my feminity, which for a long time I saw as weakness or burden.
